Performance saloon under workshop lights before an ECU remapping session

Bristol ECU remapping

ECU remapping and tuning files, done properly

Performance and economy remaps, custom dyno calibration and diesel diagnostics for cars, vans, HGVs and agricultural machinery. Original file archived on every job — measured, reversible, documented.

Unlock the potential of your vehicle with specialist ECU remapping.

Bristol Tuning is a specialist ECU remapping workshop for drivers, fleets and operators who want measurable results from custom tuning files — not a generic map pulled off a server. Every remap starts with the vehicle: the original ECU file is read and archived, the engine is health-checked, and only then is a calibration written that matches the hardware, the fuel and the way the vehicle is actually used.

One tuning file service covers performance cars, daily drivers, vans, HGVs and agricultural machinery. As a reference point, a Stage 1 calibration on a common 2.0 diesel moves from 190 hp to around 225 hp, with torque climbing from 400 Nm to 470 Nm — gains you feel in-gear, not just on a spec sheet.

Because the original file is archived before anything is written, every vehicle can be returned to stock at any time. That is the standard for every job here: measured, reversible and documented.

Performance tuning files

Stronger power delivery, sharper throttle response and in-gear acceleration you can feel. Calibrated for the specific engine and its condition — never a one-size-fits-all file.

Economy tuning files

For drivers and fleets that want smoother torque and sensible fuel use. Focused on drivability and efficiency, and honest about what a calibration can and cannot save.

Custom dyno tuning

The vehicle is tested under controlled load so the calibration can be proven against measured output. The route for modified cars and anything beyond a standard stage file.

DPF, EGR & AdBlue solutions

Diesel-system faults cause limp mode, warning lights and expensive guesswork. Diagnostics come first — a file decision is only made once the hardware story is known.

More power, better response and a setup that fits the vehicle.

Improved performance

A remap changes how the engine management software controls fuelling, boost and torque — sharper response and stronger delivery from hardware you already own.

Increased fuel efficiency

A careful economy calibration helps the engine run more efficiently when the vehicle's condition and the driving style support it. No miracle claims — measurable behaviour.

Built around the vehicle

The calibration is matched to the driver, the hardware and the job the vehicle does, whether the goal is performance, economy or a balanced daily setup.

From German saloons to working trucks and field machinery

One disciplined file workflow covers all of it: read the original, build the calibration, prove it, archive everything. Ask for your exact engine — the quote comes from real calibration data.

Reference calibrations for common engines. Exact figures depend on vehicle condition, fuel and hardware — every quote is confirmed against real calibration data.

From quote to road in four steps

Read the ECU file

The original file is read from the vehicle and archived before any modified file is written.

Build the calibration

The tuning file is prepared for the exact engine, hardware and requested route — performance, economy or diagnostics-led.

Check against stock

The modified calibration is compared with the original file before it goes anywhere near the vehicle.

Write and road check

The file is written back, the vehicle is checked under real conditions and handed over with a clear record of what changed.

Tuning files are managed through the TuningBay portal — the same professional workflow used by dedicated file services.

Specialist tuning needs equipment, software and a process that holds.

Vehicle first

Vehicle details, current faults and the goal of the tune come before any route is chosen. If tuning is the wrong answer for this vehicle, that gets said out loud.

File control

Original files are read, archived and version-controlled on every job. Each vehicle keeps a guaranteed way back to standard.
